About Raphael Githiga Mwai
It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of the will of God that we announce the sudden death of FCS Raphael Githiga Mwai, which occurred on the 7th January, 2020.
Until his demise, FCS Mwai was the Founder Chairman and Policy and Governance Advisor with Public Private Development Consultants Ltd (PPD). FCS Mwai was a member of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) between 2004-2010. During this period, he was privileged to Chair the Technical Committee that crafted the Kenya Vision 2030. FCS Mwai served in various high capacities with many professional bodies in Kenya and East Africa, including: The Institute of Public Secretaries of Kenya, of which he was the Founder Chairman; The Kenya Association of Manufacturers; The Kenya Institute of Management, The Association of Professional Associations of East Africa (APSEA); The Kenya Private Sector Association, and; the Federation of Kenya Employers.
FCS Mwai was the son of Joseph Githiga Mwai and Francesca Wangeci Mwai. Husband of Magdalene Ngima Mwai and Jane Nduta Mwai. Father of Pastor Joseph Mwai, Francesca Wangeci, Rose Anne Wanjiru, Philip Kariuki, Catherine Wangeci, Joyce Wangui, Anthony Chege, Charles Maina and the late John Kamau. He was the Father in law of Jane Mwai, Triza Kariuki, Martin Waweru, Anne Rita Chege and Clemence Maina. FCS Mwai was the beloved grandfather of Raphael, Magdalene, Njau, Mumbi, Kariuki, Frankie, Hope, Ngima, Austin, Ayah, Kairo, Brian, Jasmine, Micah, Elistone, Savannah and Christian.
FCS Mwai was Brother of the late Paul Gikonyo, James Kingori, Consolata Waithera, the late Margaret Wachiga, Sabina Wangui, the late Frathia Wanjiru, Elijah Githinji and the late Emma Nyambura. He was a beloved Uncle, Cousin and dear friend to many.
Family and friends will meet daily from 5.30 pm at their home at Woodlands Trafford Court, Woodley, off Ngong Road.
The prayer meetings will be held at the All Saints Cathedral Nairobi from Tuesday the 14th to Friday the 17th of January from 5.30pm in St. Thomas Hall.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday the 22nd of January 2020 at CITAM (NPC) Valley Road from 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm.
The burial will take place on Friday the 24th January 2020 from 11.00am at his farm in Mweiga, Nyeri County.
