Dr. Job Masakhwe Lukuru Obwaka

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Dr. Job Masakhwe Lukuru Obwaka, which occurred on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Until his demise, Dr. Obwaka was a renowned Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, and a dedicated member of the Board of The Nairobi Hospital.

He was the beloved son of the late Elly Masakhwe and the late Filister Abiero. Loving husband of Everrose Chemtai Obwaka and the late Florence Atenya Obwaka. Devoted father of Elly Masakhwe, Debora Abiero, Gerald Chesumba, Gloria Sheunda, Tony Wanga, Philly Abiero, and Dr Chris Obwaka. Cherished grandfather of Keenan, Brandon, Miguel, Adrian, Noah, Kelani, Moraa, Evie, and Bellarose.

He was a dear brother of Aggrey Obwaka, the late Grace Auma, Zedekiah Mukamba, the late John Okoth, the late Ruth Atieno, the late Charles Onyango, the late Enock Oduor, Dr William Obwaka, Anna Odembo, and the late Lydia Were. He was a loving uncle, cousin, colleague, and friend to many. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Daily funeral meetings will be held at CITAM Valley Road on Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Monday 11th May from 5:30pm.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday 13th May from 10:00am at CITAM Valley Road. The cortège will leave Lee Funeral home on Thursday 14th May, and his body will be laid to rest in Musanda village, Mumias on Friday 15th May, 2026.
