Barrack Oguge Otienoh (Barry Gold)

With deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the sudden death of Barrack Oguge Otienoh (BarryGold) on Wednesday 15 May 2019 following a respiratory illness.

Son of Prof. Nicholas Oguge (University of Nairobi) and Dr. Ruth Otienoh (Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology) of Yenga Village, Bondo Sub-County, Siaya County. Son-in-law of Philip and the late Florence Mweke of Tala. Beloved husband of Bancy Nduku. Loving father of Nicholas Jason Oguge (baby Nick). Brother of Nereah Adhiambo (San Francisco). Uncle of Teko Rawiri (New Dawn School, Bondo). Brother-in-law of Martin, Mutinga, Kimatu, Mutio, the late Musyoki and Musyimi. Grandson of the late Benjamin and Nereah Oguge (Yenga Village), and Daniel and Lena Aswani (Ebukambuli Village).

Nephew of the late Barrack Oguge, Ben and Grace Anyiko, Alice Oguge, the late Millicent Akinyi, the late Mary Agido, the late Stanley Ochieng; Isabela, Kennedy, Selina, Yunia, Sarah (Dubai), the late Joyce, Lorna, Lydia and Fridah. Cousin of the late Emma Anyiko, Barrack, Monica, Cindy (Laheri), the late Caroline Achieng, Christine, Chichi, Dickens, Nereah, Dorcas, Besla, Millicent, Dick, Achieng’, Monica Meyerer, Khadija, Triza, Callaghan, Barrack, Opanga among others. Cousin of the larger families of Odera ka Ligondo, Rev. Shadrack Osewe, and Mzee Angiyo Ongalo.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at Midland Court, South C and Yenga Village in Bondo Sub-County.

There will be fundraising events on Saturday 25/05/2019 at 3.00pm and Wednesday 29/05/2019 at S.00pm at the All Saints Cathedral. Contributions may also be paid through Paybill 544087 account number: contributor’s name.

A Funeral Service will be held at the All Saints’ Cathedral on 30th May, 2019 at 12.00 noon.

Burial will be on 1st June, 2019 at his father’s home in Yenga Village, Bondo Sub-County, Siaya County.
