Today we come together to celebrate the life of our beloved mother Doreen Zado Mbotela (Dowin). Though she may have been taken from us too soon,her spirit will forever shine and live on in the memories we cherish and the love we shared.
Doreen was an adventure filled person with laughter, mischief and unconditional love.She was not only our Mother but also a grand ma, aunty, sister, niece, cousin and a close friend to many.
As we bid farewell to Dowin,let us carry forward the love and laughter she brought into our lives,though she may no longer be with us in body,her spirit will forever echo in our hearts reminding us to cherish each moment and hold tight to the bond of family.

A few months ago ,I was reflecting on my time at Bamburi Cement and those who made it memorable, and Doreen Mbotela topped my list. The exemplary secretarial services she rendered touched everyone’s heart. I remember her diligence in handling multiple tasks including planning a series of local and overseas trips for Managers which she meticulously handled flawlessly and with her characteristic smile. Just as I was thinking of reconnecting with Doreen once again after several years just to appreciate her as one of the people who played a key role in my work life then the news of her sickness came to my attention and the cruel hand of death followed fast and furious leaving no chance to say bye ! Death can be so ruthless !We accept the will of God to let you rest but the fond memories will linger on in the minds of Bamburi Cement fraternity.

Zado my friend, my sister. If only you would have said kwaheri that Wednesday afternoon. Though you were in lots of pain, I was still not prepared for your departure. You left too soon, too suddenly. There’s a lot to say about our friendship, the happy times and the sad times, the fun times we had, the challenges we both faced in our daily lives. That it would take months if I had to write it
all out. I shall miss you big time sister. Go well and rest well in peace. -
